On August 22nd, Irie G packed the house on a Reggae Wednesday night at Winston’s OB, a neighborhood weekly destination hosted by renowned reggae DJ Carlos Culture of alt-radio station 94.9. His San Diego-based All–Star band for the night included Carlos Liera on trumpet, John Herb on trombone, Ty Kiernan on percussion, Kaya Hall (K-Skunk) on guitar, Jehua Evans on keys, Felix on bass, Nina Anctil and Maria Connors on back up vocals, Sammy Roots on drums and, of course, Gregory “Irie G” Cryns leading the pack on lead vocals and guitar. As a hometown show, naturally everyone in Ocean Beach came to support!

Blending elements of reggae, rocksteady and hip hop, Irie G will grab your attention through his inspirational energy, flowing conscious lyrics, smooth horn lines, melodic harmonies and danceable beats. International music artist based out of the eclectic town of Ocean Beach, CA, Irie G exudes the rawness of the artistic city. His new single “Slow Motion” is dropping this November and has a new EP on the way featuring HIRIE horns and Robbie Shakespeare (Sly Robbie). Irie G will be recording in Jamaica at Tough Gong Studios in fall 2019 with five-time GRAMMY winner Marc Lee and Paul Fakhourie.
