The inaugural Same Same But Different Festival (SSBD) took place on the shores of Moreno Beach, Lake Perris. Day One was a scorcher, much to the pleasure of attendees, who took advantage the late summer sun wading in the lake most of the day. San Diego rapper Brett Max and possé kicked off Year One on the Same Same Stage that morning of Saturday, September 22nd. Galaxe's rhythmic funk followed, before Trouble In The Wind got folky with it. By the time Bomb Squad got onstage, the temperature was finally dipping enough for a dance party to ensue.

Crowd-favorite The Routine was up next, prompting SSBD-ers to come out in full blown 70's garb — flower power taken literally. As the sun descended from the sky, The Family Crest and Within kept the dance party at maximum momentum before reggae-rockers Through The Roots made way for jam band headliner Lettuce to groove into the night. For those that couldn't call it a night, SSBD provided after hours entertainment via Late Night Radio and Boombox, both offering continuous chill vibes well into the early morning.
