3rd Annual Festival at the Farm takes form

If you plan on being in Massachusetts on September 15th and 16th, then here’s the latest scoop: the 3rd Annual Festival at the Farm (FatF) will be returning to Prowse Farm in Canton this year, thanks to Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs and Six Chair Productions. The festival grounds are located on an expansive 44-acre property and managed by the non-profit organization Friends of Prowse, meaning a portion of every ticket sold, as well as a dozen eggs per each ticket sold, will be donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Festival at the Farm is a weekend-long event full of activities beyond music

That said, Festival at the Farm is a good time for the whole family! All ages will be coming together for delicious local food and drink, live music, craft vendors, backyard games and an onsite farmers’ market, filled with produce from local farmers. The most exciting part for music lovers (of course) will be the lineup and the first-round artists for 2018 have just been revealed! Amos Lee, Dawes, Mandolin Orange, Amy Helm and many more amazing artists will be performing, including The Wild Reeds, The Suitcase Junket, Caitlyn Smith, Upstate Rubdown, Will Dailey, Jesse Dee, The Silks, and Ali McGuirk. This partial lineup is full of folky feel-good grooves, phenomenal talent and gorgeous vocals that will have your heart soaring above the clouds on a crisp autumn day. Amos Lee is a well-known artist that has a style similar to rock, folk and soul put together. Lee has produced six studio albums and has opened for famous artists such as Norah Jones, Bob Dylan, the Avett Brothers and Adelle. Also among the lineup for the Festival at the Farm is Dawes. Dawes is a feel-good American folk-rock band from L.A. that is currently touring the country and bringing their beat to audiences all over the U.S. With more artists to be disclosed in May, FatF 3 is already shaping up to be the best yet.

And, Festival at the Farm is a weekend-long event full of activities beyond music – especially for the youngsters! Joining the team this year is Kids Really Rock, which will be bringing in Karen K. and the Jitterbugs and other kid-friendly artists for a special concert each day of the weekend. Kids will be endlessly entertained with interactive games, face painting, storytelling and magic shows. Due to the holistic nature of the event, Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs will be providing a space for kids to meet and pet live hens, learn about farming and also have an opportunity to meet a farmer. This funky spin on a meet-and-greet is to emphasize FatF’s main focus of bringing a sense of community and strengthening bonds between families and locally-sourced products.

Early bird ticket sales will be available as of this Thursday, April 12th at 10am. Kids ages 3-12 get in free and ticket prices will rise after the entire music lineup is released next month, so be sure to get your tickets now at www.festivalatthefarm.com!
