Bay Area Vibez Festival 2015

Oakland, California has always been at the progressive end of the spectrum. Being one of the busiest port cities in the west coast, Oakland will become the epicenter of reggae, hip-hop and EDM come September 2015 when Tourn Entertainment will host the inaugural Bay Area Vibez, a two-day, three-stage festival in the heart of Oakland’s beautifully situated Middle Harbor Shoreline Park.

“The eclectic mix is what constitutes the urban festival and represents the very nature of the Bay Area”

The festival has secured a very impressive lineup which includes Grammy© winning artist, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Nas, who has a #1 album on American Billboard top 200, eight time Grammy© winning artist/producer, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Grammy© nominated Meshell Ndegeocello, #1 Billboard reggae performer Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley, Jo Mersa; son of Stephen Marley, Fiji, Fishbone, Krooked Treez, Richie Spice, I-Wayne, Queen Omega, Ghetto Youths, The Courtney John Project, Skip Marley, Black Am-I and the Oakland based fan favorite band, Forrest Day. Surprisingly the artists don’t end there. The complete lineup will be announced on July 15th, which happens to be when tickets will go on sale.

“Our brand and lineup represent the collection of demographics, various cultures and interests of the Bay Area. We are producing an authentic urban lifestyle festival, which is reflective of the area. To have two of Bob Marley’s sons, Damian and Stephen perform at our inaugural festival is significant to our goal. We also have hip-hop artist Nas as one of our headliners and will be securing some nostalgic EDM artists. The eclectic mix is what constitutes the urban festival and represents the very nature of the Bay Area,” says festival coordinator, Yurel Hassan Cooke. “The location is impeccable for an annual festival. With other surrounding fest locations as California Roots, Outside Lands, Reggae on the River and Treasure Island, the Bay Area Vibez seemed to fill a void on the map, and blending the genres for the Bay Area just felt right.”

This year’s event will also feature a silent disco lead by DJ’s, live art, local foods, craft beer and wine gardens which will all be topped off with a gorgeous backdrop of the San Francisco Bay Area.
