San Diego Bayfest to bring reggae to Waterfront Park

San Diego at the beginning of summer is a beautiful sight. Combine that with the biggest reggae-rock bands in the business and you have the makings of an epic summer kickoff party! Every time Slightly Stoopid has a hometown show, the whole city comes together; now compound that with the second largest SD name, Tribal Seeds. Let's just say San Diego Bayfest 2019 has the right idea to expedite summer sunshine to the masses.

Every time Slightly Stoopid has a hometown show, the whole city comes together; now compound that with the second largest SD name…

Presented by Music Box and DM Events, SD Bayfest is a one-day fest filled with music and more at the sweet waterfront location of San Diego's Embarcadero Marina Park North. Coastal, tropical and smackdab downtown, The Embarcadero is home to many a music festival, including 91x's Scallywag, EDM's CRSSD Fest and a myriad of other mixed genre events, so it's only natural that a full day dedicated to reggae-rock pops up from time to time.

And, what a day of reggae it will be! Expected to host 7,000+ attendees, the premiere San Diego Bayfest will have tunes wafting over the ocean breeze starting at the crack of noon on Saturday, June 1st by Band of Gringos, HIRIE, Don Carlos, Fortunate Youth and, of course, the aforementioned industry giants, Tribal Seeds and Slightly Stoopid. What would a Stoopid show be without direct support of some of these quintessential bands, anyway? The best part is, reggae-rock lovers are well aware that the bands listed for Bayfest continually intersect each other around the calendar year, considering each other pretty much industry family. To have them all celebrating in one place usually leads to a lot of jokes and once-in-a-lifetime on-the-spot collabs!

Lest we forget the deejays spinning the whole time. With sets from legends of the vinyl game — spinning only the best in reggae, funk and hip hop — DJ Unite and DJ Green T, dancing will be almost involuntary. You might know them from a groovy shindig over the last decade happening in Ocean Beach called Ocean Boogie. Speaking of OB, Alt 94.9's top reggae radio personality and Winston's Beach Club reggae night host DJ Carlos Culture in the mix! If those three collossal San Diego deejay names aren't enough, DJ Fresh One, DJ Schoeny, DJ Who and Paulo da Rosa will also be bumpin' their unique style throughout the day. San Diego Bayfest, you've outdone yourself.

Tickets are already on sale for SD Bayfest and you better believe that this summer jam will sell out soon!  Don't just think it's about the music either: SD Bayfest plans to offer craft beverages and food from San Diego vendors in between interactive arts and crafts booths. Talk about keeping it local! To grab your tickets now, visit www.sandiegobayfest.com.
