Third World releases album of billboard classics
Third World is a renowned Jamaican reggae band which had the pleasure of playing music during the “golden era” of reggae music
Third World released an album, titled Under The Magic Sun on June 10th which contains new recordings of classic hits. Third World members stated the album was produced with their late singer Bunny Rugs in the beginning, until Bunny fell ill, and unfortunately passed away this year. Still, members say the new album features four different lead vocals, including that of Bunny Rugs, AJ Brown, Cat Coore and Maurice Gregory.
Third World is a renowned Jamaican reggae band which had the pleasure of playing music during the “golden era” of reggae music, and produced such hits as, “Reggae Ambassadors,” “96 Degrees,” and “Try Jah Love.” This new album contains renditions of Billboard classics- not only of their own songs in bonus tracks, but how they interpreted other hits, such as “Put A Little Love In Your Heart,” and “I Can’t Fight This Feeling.”
AJ Brown, singer for Third World had this to say about the album, "Working on Under The Magic Sun was a treat for me. It's always a challenge to take a song that is already a certified hit, reinterpret it and give it a different twist that revitalizes the song to the point where it has the potential to become a hit again. I particularly liked the selection of hit songs and enjoyed infusing my own vocal interpretations. It was more of a joy than a challenge working on this project. I believe the group has met and even surpassed expectations."
The band is currently on tour in the U.S.A., which started on July 3rd in New York, and moves to such cities as Largo, Maryland, and Santa Cruz, California, among many others! The band will even make a stop in Canada for the Calgary Reggae Festival.
