Sun-Dried Vibes ‘Back2Square1’ album review

Sun-Dried Vibes is a band from South Carolina bringing modern reggae-rock music to the East Coast. They recently released their sophomore album titled, Back2Square1 in which Top Shelf Reggae had an opportunity to check out what kind of vibes this band is bringing from the East Coast to any coast!

The guitar definitely sways their music back-and-forth from reggae to rock, and their lyrics speak mostly of life, inspiration, and weed.

The band’s first song, “All I want” starts with an easy-going guitar riff that goes into a song of Christmas, and the green stuff, so it makes a listener feel they left off at Christmas, and are fiending for some herbal remedy! The next title track song goes into a faster tempo and talks about the experience of Life; especially as it pertains to the band and positivity. After that, we get an easy-listening duet, but then the album goes into more reggae style music with such songs as “Easier Said Than Done,” “Irie Vibes,” and “Like It Like That.”

Sun-Dried Vibes carry that reggae melody well- particularly with dub music and riffs. The guitar definitely sways their music back-and-forth from reggae to rock, and their lyrics speak mostly of life, inspiration, and weed. Their music is motivational too- especially when it leans more towards the acoustic sound. Vocalist Zach Fowler’s voice may also be a bit high-pitched for the music, but it gives it that familiar, East Coast twangy accent!
